Delph Band Come Second at Brass at the Guild 2014

After weeks of rehearsing Kenilworth by Arthur Bliss Jonathan Davies lead Delph Band to success at Brass at the Guild on Sunday 2nd February.  A musical performance won the band second place!

As well as winning a glass trophy (and £300) to add to the band's growing collection, soprano player (Louise Coates borrowed from Middleton Band) won the well deserved prize of ‘Best Soloist’.

The band and conductor were very happy with their performance and had some fantastic feedback from the adjudicator.

Saddleworth bands ruled the roost with every local band winning a prize;

• Greenfield Band winning the Fourth Section;
• Boarshurst Silver winning the Third Section;
• Delph Band coming second in the Second Section; and
• Oldham (Lees) Band winning the First Section.

Delph are now ready to get back to rehearsals and start tackling Chaucers Tunes for the North West Regional Championships in Blackpool.

It looks like 2014 is set to be another successful year for the band!
